 So yea, Hi. I’m the new kid on the block.

I will be sharing with you how I, the dumb HO will be surviving the housemanship. After about 10 months of break, I got the job! YEAYYYYYY!!! But not so yeayyy la ah…

Why so? I planned so trips in August as the rumours was that the PTM (Program Transformasi Minda) supposed to be at the end of August. So, rumours became reality in an earlier manner. PTM date from end of August became 6th of August. So yea! Sudden pressure. Sudden going crazy!

Forms prepared, stuff prepared, everything prepared except for 1 thing. Just 1 thing. I didn’t prepare MYSELF. Still can’t believe it. The calling came and yea, time to go.



I wasn’t prepared at all. As I’m writing this, I am still not prepared. So yea, here are some tips that can be useful to those reading this that will becoming a HO soon.




1.       E-HO. The most crucial part after getting your results. Have friends with you. Choose the right CC to go and apply (unless you have a fast internet at home). Go try it out dulu to see the speed of the internet. It is very important. If not, jadi macam aku. Hahahaha. Prepare a lot of tab and place your IC and password on the required area. You don’t need to do much once logged in during the time, just a couple of numbers and choices. Don’t waste time. 12.00 pm it starts. 12.00:20 seconds, a lot slots of important hospitals will be taken out. Have at least 3 choices. You only have to choose 1. ONE! Choose wisely and choose FAST.

2.       Enjoy your holidays post med school. I worked to save money in order to go for holiday. Ingatkan boleh la ah. But, haizzzz…. 10 months away of med school and I didn’t even go for a holiday. Bad choice. Hahahaha *at least ade duit sikit la ah dalam account.

3.       Join courses and medical programmes. Enhance your skills and serve the people.



So yea, then PTM will come. Basically, PTM is just to expose you how working life and the corporate world will be. Nothing much, but enjoy the food. *it’s free hotel and free food. Hahahahaha. 1 week of that. A lot of group activities. So yea, apa yang penting *kerjasama!*

Week 2, hospital orientation. The final week before you start it all. Here is where you will know which posting you will begin and all. They will teach you how to fill up some of the forms, safety precautions and so on so. Here is where all the tachycardia and the zoo in the stomach starts la. Nerve-wracking. Hahahahaha.

I have no idea when will be the next post of my life in this. But, I will try.

They journey of a Dumb HO starts on 20th August. A day after my Birthday. Let’s see how it goes la ah.

Preggy mommies! Here I come! 



But I am starting the session with sadness. Why?

1.       I did not get the Hospital that I want. *redha je la ah..

2.       We were not allowed to choose our 1st posting. *but xkisah pun, jalan je. And I got something that I don’t mind.

3.       As most of my friends know, I’m an adrenaline junkie. I get excited over emergency situations, therefore, my love towards Emergency Medicine is a lot! BUT, we were not allowed to choose our elective posting and I go Anaes for my Elective posting. Was sad but, I realised that it will be much more beneficial for me if I go Anaes. So yea, okay la ah…

A month as a Houseman

It has been a beautiful ride of ups and downs for the past 1 month as a HO. Life has been different. The way you look at things changes. Above all, you miss your family. 1 piece of advice I would like to give to all future HOs is that choose a place near to your family, seeing them can comfort you up, reducing the stress. I don’t bring my stress back home even when I’m staying alone but it hits you sometimes. You ponder back on it and continuously thinking about that and you get sad for the stupid mistakes that you have done. Kene marah lagi. Stupid reasons je kot. Could have avoided it, but naaaaa. Let’s make more stupid mistakes la ah. But by making these mistakes la I learn more. I decided to become over productive sikit recently, and through that, this week was a little extra draining. How ah??

So, a junior of mine read my blog and asked me on what should be done during medical school days in order to become a better houseman. I took some time to get it write but something is always missing, because I was never a good student and I am a DUMB houseman. 🤣🤣🤣 So, what I will write instead is what I feel that I should have done during my school days in order to be a better HO. 😉 Please be advised that I’m just a first poster in HO. What I’m saying is what I feel la ah…. Saye bengap dulu dan sekarang. 🤣🤣🤣 So, here we go.  First and foremost what I feel is that as a medical student, go and learn la. Explore what medicine is. The art of it. We used to be so excited tau bile masuk OT. But haprak la, learn nothing most of the time. Jadi tiang je pun. Waktu student la waktu paling susah nak belajar.
